PGTA with QTS & PGCE
A 12-month work-based teacher training pathway for graduates. Leads to Qualified Teacher Status, a PGCE and 60 Master's credits. Available across Primary, Secondary and SEND, with part-time options also available.

Undergraduate BA with QTS - Level 5 Advanced Entry
Launching in September 2027
A 24-month advanced-entry route for experienced school staff with a relevant Level 5 teaching assistant or school-support qualification. Leads to a BA degree and QTS, subject to prior-learning mapping.

Undergraduate BA with QTS
A 38-month degree and QTS pathway for school staff who do not already have a degree. Participants remain employed while studying. Primary, Secondary and SEND pathways are available.

Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant with Foundation Degree in Professional Practice
Our Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship includes a Foundation Degree in Professional Practice for Teaching Assistants. The awarding of this foundation degree is funded directly by Coventry University and is not funded via the Growth and Skills Levy (formerly apprenticeship levy). Employer and apprentices are not required to contribute towards the cost of awarding the foundation degree.

The three National GTP teacher-training routes have January, April and September entry points. Secondary undergraduate pathways are available in Maths, English, Spanish and PE; the postgraduate route covers all secondary subjects.
